2013 plate Ford Fiesta diesel
Nothing much to say really, the neighbour had not longer bought it from a car dealership and wanted it doing again properly.
They hadn’t done the engine bay, inside the wheels, left minor stains on the seats (to be fair they weren’t obvious to the eye, just if you looked a little harder).
Cleaned the engine bay, topped up the wind screen wash, deep cleaned the exterior and sealed, shampoos the seats, dressed the plastics, etc...

“Svended”
I love it!
My new aspiration is to become a verb.

It’s been my screen name on forums for a few years now.
I like these plates as they are my screen name and the flag of my county.
Purely for detailing use and not road legal.

Electric, I don’t think anybody does windy-up fronts nowadays. Except Hyundai, they ma
de an i10 with manual everything for me when I was in Iceland in 2012.
Cars get cheaper as you work back, so manual rear windows unless you pay more.

Looks great - do you have
any secrets to making
that black trim around the glass more fingerprint resistant
? On my car
it cleans up alright, but it gets touched all the time so it doesn’t take long to look bad again
.

That twisted shifter boot really irks me. Otherwise it’s cleaner than any of my vehicles will ever be!

As Cé hé sin says, font are electric and rear are manual.
It’s a low to mid range Zetec. 1.5 TDCi, 75b hp.
Quite basic but an honest little car.

i was hoping for manuals, that way i could buy the parts and fit them to one here.
however, that won’t happen with them being electric.

Give it a good clean with an all purpose cleaner and/or panel wipe then use a sealant. Childrens fingers have natural oils which dry up as they get older which is why many people use hand creams, both childrens fingers and hand creams can greatly harm plastic trim and even the clearcote on the paint as the oils leech into the surface. Keep a bottle of quick detailer or similar such as Adam’s Buttery Wax or Chemical Guys P40 Detailer in the car.
If the prints are in the clearcote you’ll have polish them out before protecting them, if it’s damaged the plastics, it’s something you may have to replace or live with. There is plastic trim paint, but you’ll have to do all of them to keep it uniform.

I hadn’t noticed it earlier but now it’s all I can think about.
Next time I see him I’ll get it sorted.

Sorry, just looked for that model and they are all electric on the front, even the base models.

I was trying to hurry myself along as I thought I was taking it too slow after saying to my neighbour it’s be four hours, turns out it was three hours start to finish.

Thanks! I generally keep after it, but was just wondering if there was some sort of “better living through chemistry” solution other than quick detailer.

You can use a ceramic coating such as Gtechniq C1/4/5, CarPro CQuartz, etc... and coat the surface, this will act as a barrier for the oils and the body.
Gene rally these (if applied correctly, always read the application instructions before hand and follow them fully), will last in the region of three years at least going up to seven years for Gtechniq Crystal Serum Lite.

Ah OK I will look into that - thanks!

No worries. Coatings seem expensive for what you get but they really do go a long way. A 15ml bottle will do all the exterior plastics on most modern cars and they last.
